FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?
Staging Rings are not available to buy commercially.
I am an amateur flower show exhibitor and have developed the Staging Rings idea for my own use.
DO THEY WORK?
Initial trials at the end of 2021 were promising. These tests were conducted by myself and a few other exhibitors.

They were tested at 'real' flower shows in 2022 - used in over 250 vases. So we are confident they work.
AREÂ THEY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN FOAM?
The initial cost of a Staging Ring is likely to be greater than the cost of floral foam needed to fill a vase.
But the Staging Rings are reusable and should last a long time - just like the vases.

So there is only a one-off cost.

You don't need to keep on buying foam.

They should save money!
THEY STILL USE PLASTIC?
Yes, they do.
The prototypes are being made from a bioplastic called PLA (a non-oil based plastic). Articles about PLA and its properties can be found on Wikipedia.
The plastic Staging Rings can be used many times, just like the flower vases they are meant to be used with.
So they actually save on plastic compared with continually having to buy fresh floral foam (which contains plastic).

And, because they are reused, there is no waste foam to dispose of after each show. And no microplastic.
HOW EASY ARE THEY TO USE?
Initial trials in 2021 suggested they are quick and easy to use - on a par with traditional methods.

DO THEY MAKE ANYÂ MESS?
Staging rings should involve less mess when staging flowers and when clearing away after a show.
There is no floral foam to shape and trim when setting up vases at a show.
The only waste products when clearing away after a show are the old flower stems and dirty vase water.

They are very easy to store alongside your vases.
